Strange picture, but anyway, I've started making wire and paper mache birds and dolls, this is my first one, first layer of paper mache, needs lots more layers, lots of bright and funky paint and then it can hang from the roof of Sparkle Empire Playground!!

Dolls of Hope - Save lives in South Africa

In a country ravaged by AIDS, an unexpected group is mobilizing.
Grandmothers in South Africa who have lost one or more children to AIDS are fighting to support their grandchildren and save them from illness. Their weapons – in a land without HIV drugs – are hand-crafted dolls. Selling dolls gives them a small source of income to pay for their new expenses and also helps educate their community about HIV.
"They're making dolls that save lives" says Los Angeles AIDS activist Cynthia Davis. "They really are dolls of hope."
